Who's Who of Britain's Business EliteOUT OF STOCK
One of our most prestigious titles. By analysing the difference in Shareholders’ Funds over the last two years, we have been able to highlight those business leaders who drive the companies that have recorded the highest growth rate. The criteria for fastest growth will always be subjective. Some of the key measures are sales turnover, net profit, new customers and market share. Our key measurement is the percentage change in Shareholders’ Funds, i.e. the true increase in the value of the business. We believe that this measurement takes into account directors’ salaries and shareholders’ drawings. There is always the danger that some companies record a positive change in shareholders’ funds via an increase in share capital, revaluation reserves and goodwill. These factors have been taken into account, as the leaders of these companies are investing in their business.
Inclusion requires minimum Shareholders’ Funds of £75,000 in the current year’s audited accounts at Companies House, with a minimum increase of 75% on the previous year. (We respect that companies have different year end dates and file their audited accounts at various times) We only use data that has been audited and filed in a timely manner at Companies House. All companies that do not meet these criteria are excluded.
Using these criteria, we have researched 22,696 companies out of over 2 million incorporated companies in the UK which met the criteria. At one end of the list was a company that reported a 74.5% increase in net worth from £1.485m to £2.591m. At the other end of the scale, a company, via a merger, went from a net worth of £220,000 to just under £250m. Like all the Who’s Who titles in the Britain’s Business Elite series, the focus is on the noteworthy business leaders who are directors and / or shareholders. We have removed all Company Secretaries where we are aware they are not a director. However, if we have highlighted a Company Secretary where they are a shareholder, they have been included in the publication. We do not publish a league table of companies or directors. The biographical listing is in order by Director’s surname.
